DiMichele Sobs Her Way to Probation, Not Jail Time

Alicia DiMichele cried at her embezzlement sentencing today -- and was given four years probation by a Brooklyn federal judge not known for Mafia sympathy.

The former "Mob Wives" star apologized for helping Edward “Tall Guy” Garofalo, her husband and a soldier in the Colombo crime family, steal union pension funds via a trucking company the couple owned and operated between 2003 and 2005.

“I was a bookkeeper for DM Trucking and prepared invoices and paperwork with the knowledge that they were false,” DiMichele said before tearing up.

“I knew my husband and his partners were doing something wrong but I didn’t do anything to stop it.”

“This is not who I am and I can’t tell you how embarrassed I am to be here.”

DiMichele, who has three children, said she regretted stealing from workers who needed their pension money.

“I know my actions hurt some real people,” she said. “I wish I could turn back the clock but I can’t.”

Prosecutor Nicole Argentieri told the court that a non-jail sentence was appropriate in the case and suggested that DiMichele was heavily influenced by her crooked spouse at the time.

Judge Sandra Townes -- who could have sent DiMichele away for half a year --  opted for leniency after noting her clean recent record and noting that she had children to raise.

  1. well, well.well, maybe she should be in HOLLYWOOD,lets get something straight, these Mob women KNOW everything, they don't fool anybody, but today was different, wasn't it.The prosecutor even has a soft spot, what a JOKE,so much for a tuff Judge. If they are hard on the men, they should be hard on the women, they are coached from start to finish.

  2. Well, I'm happy for her. At least she admitted her wrong & never said " I DIDN'T KNOW" She knew full well what she did & owned it! Good for her!
