Colombocare: The Stabbing Of Walter Samperi

Image
The following is shared via The Colombo Crime Family Blog : As far as career paths go, joining the Mafia is a pretty risky one. There is no set wage, no 401k, as well as the looming threat of incarceration. And, as Colombo crime family associate Walter Samperi discovered the hard way, there's no health insurance either..... From: The Colombo Crime Family Blog The Italian-born Samperi stood at over two metres tall, making him a useful enforcer for powerful Colombo family figures like Teddy Persico Jr. and Tommy Gioeli. But for all his physical might, Samperi was powerless to retaliate when he was stabbed not once, but twice, in two separate incidents by a fellow Colombo associate and then, years later, by a Gambino. On neither occasion did Samperi get any sort of retribution, according to tape-recordings made in 2009 and 2010 by FBI informants. Samperi first came to the feds' attention in 2004, when he was spotted hanging around Colombo prince Theodore "Skin...

Michael Persico's True Status in the New York Underworld

Image
COSA NOSTRA NEWS EXCLUSIVE FINAL Michael Persico, son of the infamous reputed mob boss imprisoned for life , was sentenced to five years in prison last week in a proceeding during which he was essentially convicted of a crime for which he was never tried and that he never copped to in a plea agreement. Based on available evidence and this blog's interview with Michael (Mikie Scars) DiLeonardo, a onetime capo from the regime of former Gambino boss John Gotti, Michael Persico, a widower in his sixties who lives with his two daughters, is nothing like the man the judge sought to depict last week . Michael Persico is a mob prince? Desiree Persico, daughter of Alphonse (Allie Boy) Persico (Michael's brother) spoke with us as well. (We will incorporate new information from her remarks later today.) The alleged Colombo associate copped to a loansharking charge back in 2012, but last week a judge in Brooklyn federal court said he was guilty of murder, which had been prov...

Nephew of Colombo Boss Carmine Persico Dies

Image
Danny Persico, nephew of sentenced-to-life Colombo crime family boss Carmine Persico, has died. This is based on a seemingly exclusive report by Kenji Gallo on his Breakshot Blog. Danny Persico wasn't a violent mobster despite his last name. While contacting sources, we learned Danny, in his early 50s, had been fighting colon cancer for around the past six years.

Inside Dope on Colombo Family's Michael Persico

Image
Michael Persico This arrives directly from Kenji Gallo's Breakshot Blog : This Tuesday another man who has lived the mafia life will face a judge and be sentenced for his crimes: Michael Persico. This so called “mafia prince” never had to get in the trenches to get his hands dirty. He was born into power and ordered others (who were not born into the ruling class) to do his work for him. He lived the life of privilege, wealth and power that comes with being mafia royalty. A position he never earned. He was able to live the way he did because of the murderous reign of his father Carmine.

Guercio on "Nightmare" Nightclub Attack on Boyfriend London

Image
Natalie Guercio It wasn't a mob attack, which most of us knew all along, and it didn't involve the VH1 reality show, which some of us aren't so sure about. “ Mob Wives ” star Natalie Guercio , a single mom, recently gave a Fox News affiliate the downlow on the attack on her boyfriend at a Brooklyn nightclub. (We also have a point to make about "rats" afterward.) The attack apparently was unprecipitated and came from out of nowhere, Guercio said. "We went out and somebody attacked him. Somebody attacked him when he wasn’t looking and it was just a nightmare. It was gory. There was blood.

12 Years for Skinny Teddy in Scopo Slay

Image
Skinny Teddy Teddy Persico Jr., was sentenced today to 12 years for the 1993 murder of Colombo capo Joseph Scopo. The hit carried out by the boyish hitman, John Pappa , was among the final casualties of a mob war that pitted Carmine Persico and Colombo family loyalists against then-acting boss Vittorio "Little Vic" Orena and a Colombo faction backing him up. Specifically, Colombo capo Theodore "Teddy Boy" Persico, Jr., was sentenced to 12 years in prison for ordering underlings to whack Scopo, a key player for the Orena faction. In the summer of 1993, Persico managed to pass on the orders while attending his grandmother’s wake at Scarpaci Funeral Home in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, on leave from a previous prison sentence and accompanied by prison guards. (Teddy, incidentally, is Alicia DiMichele's ex-husband / husband(?) Eddie "Tall Guy" Garofalo's capo. DiMichele is due in court tomorrow.)

The prognosis is life in prison for the Gambino capo who refused to cop to a lesser charge that included a 12-year sentence.

Manny Garofalo Speaks Out

Image
Kenji Gallo, Colombo turncoat who  wrote Breakshot. “Alicia has chosen to humiliate my nephew Edward and our entire family in the name of my brother who she never even knew. The show’s stupid. I think it’s disgraceful. It’s blood money. It’s my brother’s blood.” That's what Emmanuel "Manny" Garofalo had to say about Alicia DiMichele and "Mob Wives" in an interview with the New York Daily News . Manny added that he is so sickened by this "exploitation" of the murder of his brother, Eddie "The Chink," that he's thinking of selling his home and moving to a place where he won't be recognized.

Alleged 'Mobster' Hired Hit Men to Kill Three

Image
Ronald Galati Sr. We have never heard of a gangster "hiring" a hit man. Sounds like something a guy pretending to be a gangster would do....That is why we find so confusing the latest big-news Philly mob story -- that of Ronald Galati Sr., who is described as a mob associate who while under investigation for insurance fraud, hired hitmen to take out three targets. Philly's NewsWorks reported that Galati had been an associate of former Philly mob boss [Joseph 'Skinny Joey'] Merlino and had also been convicted of racketeering in the 1990s for his connection to a murder plot planned by rival mobster John Stanfa. (Is this a copy editing mistake or did Galati change his allegiance? Depends on whether "planned by" should be "planned for" -- but we digress.) SFGate reported that Galati Sr., 63, now behind bars again, has been the focus of an ongoing insurance-fraud investigation. He was arrested last week on allegations that he had hired hi...

Lee D'Avanzo Cause of Mob Wives Reboot?

Image
Karen Gravano may have been on to something when she said someone wanted her off the show. But according to a source who spoke with Cosa Nostra News on condition of anonymity, that someone is Lee D'Avanzo , not Eddie Garofalo. Lee and Drita D'Avanzo. We wrote in a previous post  that Alicia DiMichele 's husband, Edward "Tall Guy" Garofalo, is "figuring to be a major star" in the upcoming season. This was based on a Jerry Capeci story in which Karen Gravano was the source (there were two other sources, but only Karen went on record). Karen had a theory about why Jennifer had revamped most of the cast of "Mob Wives" -- supposedly to make DiMichele and Garofalo's former marriage a centerpiece of the show. The Tall Guy has been in jail for three years and will soon head off to prison to serve his seven years  sentence . Alicia learns her fate in January, as we noted . According to Karen, it was the Tall Guy who secured his wife a ...
