Details Lacking In Recent "Contract Killer" Arrest

A man conspiring with others to kill someone has been plucked off the streets before a single shot could be fired.
A Harlem murder plot was stopped in its tracks when the NYPD arrested the alleged trigger-man before he could pull the trigger, police sources recently told the Daily News.
Francisco Colon, 41, was arrested for his role in a murder conspiracy after police raided his W.135th St. apartment near Amsterdam Avenue last Thursday. Drugs and several firearms were recovered from the scene.
Investigators learned that Colon was conspiring with others to kill someone. And that's about all that's known.
The identity of his intended victim was not immediately disclosed.
“He’s a contract killer,” a police source told the News regarding Colon.
Colon has been charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and drug and weapons possession.
In May 2002, Colon was arrested for attempted murder for shooting someone. He wound up convicted for weapons possession. He went to prison in 2003 and was let out on parole in 2006. His parole ended in 2011.

These issues, and others, have helped to cause a decline in the life expectancy of Americans. This is significant because it's something we have not seen since 1918, when a flu pandemic arose and blended with the manifold miseries of World War I.
In 2000, I herniated several discs in my lower back and was in tremendous pain. My doctors put me on a large diet of painkillers, coupled with benzodiazepines -- before and after I underwent spinal surgery that eventually eased the problem. (Today that combination of drugs -- opioids and benzos -- is considered deadly: More than 30 percent of overdoses involving opioids also involve benzodiazepines, a type of prescription sedative. Back when I was on oxycodone and klonopin, coupling those drugs was standard operating procedure.)

That was a long time ago, and I was able to extricate myself from a horrible situation that caught me completely by surprise. Also, I work in the periphery of the healthcare field, where it intersects with public policy. My point here is that I know a lot about these problems plaguing our country.
Anyone who is suffering from any of these problems, don't give up hope. See your doctor and tell him. You don't have to suffer, you don't have to drown in despair.
