Ex-Gambino Associate/Sitting NJ Councilman John Alite Busted In Loan-Sharking Takedown

Image
This isn’t breaking news, we know, but we haven’t exactly been covering any of this stuff for some time—though we are planning to return. As for John Alite, though it looks bad for him based on some of the facts, we’re reserving our verdict until the end, which is how this process is supposed to work in the USA: " Innocent until proven guilty" is the foundational legal doctrine known as the presumption of innocence. It mandates that the government bears the burden of proving an accused person's guilt. To convict, the prosecution must present evidence establishing every element of the crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Former Gambino associate/ Englishtown councilman John Alite , whom we’ve known and been writing about for over 10 years (do a search, you will see ), lent more than $200,000 to two individuals at exorbitant—and illegal—interest rates, then threatened them with violence when they missed payments. So said a New Jersey state prosecutor. John Alite. (Source: Asb...

John Junior Gotti Was Back In Queens Court This Week But Not As A Defendant; He Was An Athletic Supporter

Image
UPDATED WITH INTERVIEW You'd think a guy like John (Junior) Gotti would've had enough of courtrooms to last five lifetimes. Junior Gotti, right, and Sergio DaSilva. Yet even though he's survived four racketeering trials, as he never fails to remind, each of which ended in a hung jury, and even though he was detained without bail for 30-something months, apparently Junior has not had enough. The Dapper Don's son/former lead decision maker on a Gambino crime family ruling panel made an appearance at Queens court earlier this week, on Tuesday, to stand tall for an MMA fighter-turned-accused bank robber. And the MMA fighter in question was NOT Junior's son, John Gotti III, who's also an MMA fighter. Rather, the accused was Sergio DaSilva, who robbed an Astoria CitiBank in August 2017. Donning a ski mask, leaping over a three-foot glass partition, and allegedly threatening to shoot people, he dashed off with around $45,000. And was promptly arrested. ...

The Mafia in a New Golden Era?

Image
UPDATED on JAN, 22; 10:02pm Michael DiLeonardo answered a slew of questions -- most of the ones that were posted.  Mikie Scars was a c apo in the Gambino crime family when John Gotti was boss. If you look below in the comments section, you'll see questions people have asked Michael about the Mafia, with his answers. I'm keeping this going indefinitely, as long as Michael doesn't mind. Feel free to ask away. Just remember it may take a few days to get answers, so please don't delete your questions.... With Mafia-related murders at an all-time low and cases involving major drug trafficking on the wane, we could very well be in an era that historians will one day recall as the American Cosa Nostra's golden age. Mikie Scars suited up and ready for Freddy.... That's Michael DiLeonardo's assessment of the state of the mob today based on his recent interview on Intelligent Talk. For nearly an hour, DiLeonardo discussed Cosa Nostra life with Ralph W. ...

What the National Enquirer Wrote About Gotti Biopic's Delay Is Flashy B.S.

Image
John Travolta Has ‘Gotti’ Movie Rubbed Out By The Mob. Film suspiciously shelved just 10 days ahead of premiere ! That's the headline and blurb on a National Enquirer story that was so unintentionally hilarious, your loyal correspondent nearly tumbled out of his seat and spilled hot coffee all over himself. Here's a JPG of the actual first page of the story -- which isn't really a story.  It's a sort of "interactive experience." You can see the outline of a kind of story . It says, between the lines, that there are some really bad (wise)guys out there who don't want you to watch this film (because it gives away sacred Mafia secrets).  It's a slideshow, with each slide including a single paragraph. The story is relayed to us from paragraph to paragraph....  Let's get through this as quickly and painlessly as possible. The story posits that the New York Mafia -- the entire New York Mafia " whacked" the Gotti...

Gambino Crime Family Associate Sal Romano Was Put Under Mikie Scars

Image
Gambino crime family capo Mikie Scars and former associate Salvatore Romano, part two... See part one here ; part three here ... When Gambino mobster John Gammarano went to prison, Salvatore Romano, an associate on record with him, had concerns. Romano realized he needed to speak to Michael (Mikie Scars) DiLeonardo. Michael DiLeonardo and Sal Romano today. Ironically, the person who ultimately brought Romano and DiLeonardo together was Genovese mobster Louie Black. "Louie was with Genovese guys," DiLeonardo told us. "He started hanging around Johnny G. They were good friends." Nevertheless, Louie Black was around Michael first, for around 16 years. (Yes, a Genovese associate hung around with a Gambino member. The mob is not as formally organized as some believe. They don't wear ID badges with their name, rank and serial number, for instance.) There's lots of "lateral" relationships, and activities that can result. Johnn...
