Late Mob Boss Vincent (Chin) Gigante's Son Gets Two Years, $3.8M Forfeiture For Racketeering Conspiracy

The son of late Genovese boss Vincent (Chin) Gigante was sentenced to two years in prison yesterday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  Chin's son was arrested in January 2018. He was living in Chin's $12 million Upper East Side townhouse. Vincent Esposito copped to one count of racketeering  on April 10 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn for conspiring to commit racketeering offenses with members and associates of the Genovese family. The agreed-upon sentencing range was 24 to 30 months in prison. U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero handed down the 24-month sentence yesterday (Friday, July 19) at 9 a.m., imposing a term from the lower end of the range. Chin's Son Vincent Esposito Pleads Guilty To Racketeering Conspiracy

Before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn,  Vincent Esposito, a son of Vincent (Chin) Gigante, former boss of the Genovese crime family, pled guilty to conspiring to commit racketeering offenses with members and associates of the Genovese crime family. Vincent Esposito with father, Chin Gigante Esposito, 51, pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit racketeering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for July 10, 2019, before Judge Marrero. Larry McShane of the Daily News recentl y (well, somewhat recently) extolled the alleged virtues of Vincent (Chin) Gigante son Vincent Esposit o, the "accused high-ranking Genovese crime family associate" arrested in January. The Vincents, Esposito, left, and Gigante. Esposito was living in the wretched confines of the Metropolitan Correctional Center. His defense attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman, attempted to spring Vincent on bail, McShane reported. Turns out, as per court filings, Vincent, 50, lived most of his life with his octogenarian mother in the Upper East Side townhouse and is her primary caregiver. He shopped for her, cooked for her, and rarely ventured beyond the part of Manhattan where he lived. Esposito is the son Gigante had with longtime mistress Olympia Esposito, Vincent's aging mother, who is 83. The appeal is regarding the pretrial release of Vincent Esposito, a high-ranking member of the Genovese crime family.  Appeal letters are by nature extreme documents, with the Fed's essentially arguing their case and giving the judge the verdict, which they depict as inevitable. Feds Find Mafia “Infamnia” in Home of Vincent (Chin) Gigante's Son

Five members and associates of the Genovese crime family were arrested last week, including a son of Vincent (Chin) Gigante, the legendary Mafia Don known for the crazy act. Gigante with son Vincent Esposito outside townhouse at 77th St. in 1997. The five were indicted for crimes related to a racketeering scheme that included extortion and other crimes from 2001 up until recently. Esposito--along with capo Steven (Mad Dog) Arena, 60; Frank Giovinco, 50; Frank Cognetta, 42; and Vincent D’Acunto, Jr.--"knowingly combined, conspired, confederated, and agreed together to violate the racketeering laws of the United States."
