John Gotti's Grandson Marries

The married couple. John, stupenda sposa ...

REVISED, EXPANDED
The late John Gotti's grandson, John Gotti Agnello, was married this past weekend.

Agnello, the son of Victoria Gotti and Carmine Agnello and one of the stars of A&E's Growing Up Gotti, wed his longtime love Alina Sanchez, a physician’s assistant. According to Page Six, the 500 guests gave gifts of at least $5,000. The couple left the evening with $2.5 million.*

The event took place at the Oheka Castle in Long Island and went from 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, and ended at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

It reportedly included a multi-course meal at midnight and a breakfast at 7 a.m.

The "unusual hours"  were a result of Agnello and Sanchez’s vast array of guests, some of whom have colorful pasts.

“Felons can’t consort together,” a source told Page Six. “You have to stagger the felons. That’s standard mob procedure.” The source added there was “enough security to guard an army.”*

Page Six reports that the father of the groom had to get a judge’s approval to attend the wedding while he awaits trial for racketeering charges.

Celebrity guests included John Travolta (who will play John Gotti in an upcoming biopic), his actress wife, Kelly Preston, actor Kevin Connolly, Goodfellas star Debi Mazar, and Robert De Niro’s daughter Drena De Niro.

Victoria’s spokesman released a statement to Page Six about the event, saying, “I think whomever is creating these stories has watched The Godfather one too many times.”

* "A story about a $5,000 minimum gift demand was about as fictional as Luca Brasi," the Daily News reported. Which is why I never included that nonsense about an  "enforced minimum" in this story; I did get dollar figures from Page Six.

I also thought the "stagger the felons" part was a joke. That probably was to explain the wedding's running time. It began on Friday evening and ended Saturday afternoon. That's a long reception, in my book.

Carmine Agnello was indicted on racketeering charges in Cleveland, and one of John Gotti Senior's brothers got out recently and is probably on parole, but the Gotti family is no longer brimming with mobsters.

Victoria locks lips with soap opera star at son's wedding.

The Daily News also reported that father-of-the-groom Agnello and ex-wife Victoria Gotti "traded barbs" Friday night over her date for the evening, a soap opera star named Jack Scalia. A Brooklyn native, his IMDB.com resume says he joined All My Children in 2001.

Victoria Gotti dumped "philandering dumbfella Agnello 12 years ago, after he was convicted of racketeering and exposed for cheating on her with his Queens secretary," the News reported.

Agnello and Victoria were married for 17 years, with infamous “Teflon Don” John Gotti arranging for Agnello to become a made member of the Gambino family.
The mob boss later regretted his choice, describing Agnello as “an imbecile” devoid of common sense.
“Does he get in the back seat of the car and think someone has stolen the steering wheel?” John Gotti once asked Victoria during a prison visit.
Newly wed John Agnello, 28, was named for his maternal grandfather who died in 2002 at the federal prison in Springfield. Mo.
The wedding was held at the Oheka Castle Hotel in Huntington, where owner Gary Melius was shot and wounded by a masked gunman in 2013 — an attack that remains unsolved.
Carmine Agnello, who faces racketeering charges in Ohio in a scam similar to the Queens case that landed him behind bars, needed a judge’s permission to leave the state for the nuptials.
He was arrested two months ago in what authorities described as a $3 million stolen car and scrap metal scam. Officials also accused Angello of injecting race horses with drugs.

Agnello was indicted in Cleveland and needed permission to attend
his son's wedding.

In 1979, John Gotti ordered that Agnello be baseball batted and shot for assaulting Victori.

In a story, we also noted that a source formerly active in the Gambino crime family told us that Agnello is an intelligent businessman beset with certain flaws, the chief one being he has the mindset of a dime-store thug.

He really didn't like getting parking tickets, for one thing....
