For 37 years, the FBI has been unable to find the cash and jewels taken from the Lufthansa cargo vault at JFK airport. Now, for the first time, a Mafia insider reveals what happened to the loot.

In this short-format e-book, Dominick Cicale, a former high-ranking member of the Bonanno crime family, discloses never-before-told details about the Lufthansa robbery, which was immortalized in the movie "Goodfellas." The Mystery of the Lufthansa Airlines Heist:: A Wiseguy Reveals the Untold Story is available now for $3.99.

The book includes portions of an unpublished interview with mob associate Henry Hill, whose story inspired "Goodfellas."

Cicale, who turned his back on the mob in 2006, also offers candid insights about the Lufthansa heist's mastermind Jimmy Burke and mob figures John Gotti, "Vinny Gorgeous" Basciano, "Bruno" Indelicato and John Gotti Jr. The 13,000-word book is co-authored by Cicale and award-winning journalist Robert Sberna."

very cool. like to hear what this guy has to say.

  3. I literally can't imagine anyone getting mad at Pizzaboy. A smart, knowledgeable guy who say's it straight. And he's a gentleman too. I don't post on GBB, as it's practically unreadable these days, but I'll lurk it now and then specifically because PB still posts there. He'll probably end up pulling out of that trainwreck though and the site's back to questions like "If you could join a Family, which would it be?" And LCN ( Dom ) get a fucking life.

    ReplyDelete
  4. You let LCN post that garbage and you won't approve MY comment?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Answer me something Ed, would you? And be a man and answer honestly. I'd appreciate it. I mean, it's your blog and you can do whatever you'd like regarding comments. But did you choose not to approve it because I defended PB who clearly dislikes you or is it because I referred to LCN as Dom?

  6. Is any of the things I wrote not true??? Why do you have to defend him? Are you a fan of his or do you just have a crush on him?

    ReplyDelete
  7. He certainly doesn't need me to defend him. He's a nice guy. That's why I felt the need to say something. Plus, you don't make a lick of sense. I'm wondering why you're using this particular forum for demeaning him? Don't you have an account on GBB? I mean, at least say it to the guy's face ( So to speak)

    ReplyDelete
  8. No I don't have an account on GBB and isn't he always insulting Ed? So then It's ok for RatPizza Boy to demean Ed on GBB? Ed is also a nice guy. Again, is anything that I wrote not true?

  9. "Pizzaboy" on the other board does act like a self righteous fan boy. He will gossip like a child and then " well he is a good man I don't want to put his name out there" total b/s. Really hung up on if Ed is Italian or not.

    ReplyDelete
  10. There is only ONE reason (each) that ZERO/PizzaD is bothered by Ed & Ed's ethnicity - 1. Pizza is unsuccessful aka a LOSER/ZERO 2. Pizza is NOT Italian but WISHES he was. For some reason many people are envious of Italians. I say "envious" because you can't really label this idiot "jealous". Envy is for people like him, who don't have the self-esteem to be jealous.

    ReplyDelete
  11. For the record I meant "pizza boy" being hung up on Ed bring Italian, I could personally careless.

  12. aren't you the same guy a few months back praising cicale on his book release..then last week you say how you meet at the bayside diner with high ranking bonnano members, ya know the same family cicale(the guy u cheer on) ratted on? pick a side

    ReplyDelete
  13. I knew what you meant, Joshua, but it was nice of you to add that. ... for the record, because this Pizza guy is so goddamn fascinated by me, I'm half Italian and half German. My last name is GERMAN. I'm proud of my ethnic heritage. As you all should be. Diversity made this country great. I also have French and Irish blood mixed in. If you have been here for generations and took a DNA test I'm certain you'd be surprised by your genetic makeup. Again, this is what America is all about.

I'm a fourth generation American. He thinks I'm hiding. I honestly don't care who knows my last name. I'm a professional journalist and I've learned that publishers, journalists and some people in general don't really understand a blog about the mob. The fact is I'm writing about and reporting on organized crime, not celebrating it or affiliated with it on any level. I am friendly with some sources.

My grandfather definitely had mob ties. I've written about a dinner party my grandfather held that was attended by Sonny Red, Phil Giaccone and Big Trin. He was acquainted with other Mafioso going back to the 1950s. I knew some names but can't recall them now.

He lived in New Jersey, then Brooklyn and Queens. I know he was involved in trying to organize a labor union for fruit merchants. Later he founded a car service company called Livery Service, but never trademarked the name, which he invented. Last time I checked so many companies today use a version of the name, I couldn't count them. He had connections at the airport, not sure if it was JFK or LaGuardia or both. He was involved with something called the Flying Tigers. The Bonanno guys were interested in his airport connections but he went farther back with Phil Lucky.

My grandfather's name was Dominic, no "k" at the end, though he went by Nick. He died in 2000 at 78. I tell you this for a reason.... I'm wondering if a guy fitting this profile sounds familiar to any old timers reading this. If so please contact me.

    One last thing:
My grandmother's last name was Mozzattia. American immigration officials corrupted it into Mozat.

  14. What comment? I tend to approve all comments unless they 1. They insult me or 2. They use excessive profanity. This guy you seem to want to defend, I believe, spreads malicious lies about me, calling me a Fed, a rat and various other things. He never approaches me head on, I only know about him because I have a lot of friends who tell me about his doings and not only in the comments. So deleting a comment defending this guy, I may have deleted but don't recall. Comments go into moderation for various reasons, and I may approve them a day later. You sure it's not up now?

  17. Obviously you cannot fucking read. He said he used to eat at the diner all the time, but never noticed anything out of the ordinary .Never said he met with anyone there. Sorry Ed, but illiterates annoy me. Have a great weekend buddy.

  18. LOL WOW! Your comment makes me seem a bit more interesting than I am. Thanks! LOL

Yes, I praised Cicale and Scarpo on their book...still do. As for me saying I "meet at the bayside diner with high ranking bonanno members," well I've never said that. But it's each person's privilege to read and interpret what they like.

As for "choosing a side", I have - I'm on MY side.

  19. Ed, personally, I'm glad you delete dumb comments that have nothing to do with the articles. There is nothing interesting or informative in a personal rant by some lunatic who likes to name-call. Actually, if that type of thing were allowed to be posted I would, as I'm sure many of your readers would not read your blog. I like this blog because you post the truth, retract when in error and there's no nonsense. Thanks for providing a platform that doesn't allow these trolls to disrupt the forum or blog!

  20. Next he is going to tell us we're Jimmy Hoffa is buried. What clown this Dominick Cicale truns out to be

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why does he have to pick a side? He isn't a gangster or law enforcement

    ReplyDelete
  22. How do I do that

    ReplyDelete
  23. This website is soooooo boring. Maybe if there was some factual info I would be interested. But let's face facts Dom cicale is as cosa nostra as I am a French horn player.

    ReplyDelete
  24. LCN where did he post the address? He posted a woman's address on the Internet? This guys is a bigger piece of garbage that I even imagined if he did that. Anyone who supports him also is a piece of garbage. BUT if you could email me where you got that information I'd appreciate it. Eddie2843@gmail.com

  25. "R.I.C.O. 14 days ago

I can tell you right now, they were at the Bayside Diner, 20707 Northern Blvd. Either Palazzolo or Rabito was most likely parked at the front of the lot in the "side" parking spaces next to the curb. Whatdaya bet? I used to have coffee with Tommy Garbage, Mikey's (Michael Mancuso) closest friend, here all the time."

YES I AM the illiterate one out of the two of us...he clearly states meeting for coffee with best friend of the guy you ratted on

    ReplyDelete
  26. pizza is a cool cat knowledgeable well versed honestly think you guys would be assets to each other if not for all the back and forth

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think we are both a little confused. First off I have never ratted on anyone as I am not Dom C. We just share the same initials. Ed will vouch for me I am sure, on that. I thought you were saying that Ed claimed to be meeting with these people, because he said when he lived in Bayside he used to eat there often. So I apologize for the misunderstanding.

    ReplyDelete
  28. thanks pal, appreciate the apology, thats a man...back at ya...I enjoy reading your posts, so not looking to argue :)
