Bernie Madoff, Self-Proclaimed ‘Mafia Don’

So, Bernie thinks of himself as a Mafia don, aye? Well, I guess Cosa Nostra News should start reporting on him. You heard it here first, folks: We have just named the sixth Mafia Family -- The Madoffs. This link will bring you to an interesting article about what's going on in the "mad financial genius's" gray matter.

However, I should of course draw a distinction between Bernie and a true Mob Boss; there are inherent differences between Madoff and a Mafia don, even if Bernie doesn't think so. What is one major difference, for example?
Well, a Mafia boss would give a shit, I think, if his own son committed suicide. Barring that, though, there are also a lot of similarities, as Bernie would like to think...
From the International Business Times, we offer, in its entirety, Bernie Madoff, Self-Proclaimed ‘Mafia Don’: 10 Arrogant Excerpts from His Letter to Daughter-in-Law:

Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison in June 2009 after being convicted of devising the largest Ponzi scheme in American History and stealing more than $65 billion.

Daughter-in-law Stephanie Madoff Mack, widow of Madoff's son Mark, did not think the punishment severe enough.

Stephanie Mack Madoff reveals in her new book some of the sordid details of the Madoffs Bernie and Ruth. She discusses with ABC a letter she wrote to Bernie, hoping to receive a response filled with sorrow and remorse. Instead, she got boastful arrogance from the smug criminal.

Mark Madoff committed suicide in Dec. 2010. He was found dead, having hanged himself in his New York City apartment.

Stephanie Madoff Mack decided to write Bernie a letter describing the life he would be missing with his grandchildren, Audrey and Nicholas, because of his crimes.

She thought Madoff would feel sorry and express remorse; but instead she got back a letter filled with pomp and arrogance.

When she first received the response she was "smokin' pissed" and "sick to [her] stomach," she told ABC News.

At the time Madoff Mack got the letter, her husband Mark was still alive.

Unfortunately, the harrowing ordeal proved to be too much for him. She holds Bernie "fully responsible" for Mark's death.

"My husband was in terrible, terrible pain," Madoff Mack said. "He was so deeply hurt by it all, that he just, he, he just couldn't move past it."

She detailed her anger towards Bernie Madoff and how he destroyed her life, Mark's life, and so many others. "[He] stood there in the corner at our wedding watching everyone dance, and he knew that everyone in that room was going to get screwed," she said in the ABC interview.

Madoff Mack has written a book about her struggles, entitled, "The End of Normal: A Wife's Anguish, A Widow's New Life."

In the book, Madoff Mack reveals details about Madoff and his wife Ruth, including his lack of boundaries with family and employees as well as her strange eating habits and sordid past.
