'Bread Guy' no 'Loan Shark'

"A mobbed-up Brooklyn shopkeeper insists that just because he calls himself "the bread guy" it doesn't make him a loan shark," reports the NY Daily News.

Michael (Mike the Butcher) Virtuouso, owner of Graham Ave. Meat & Deli, was caught on wiretaps merely discussing bread deliveries and extending food on credit to longtime customers, his lawyer argues.

"The term 'bread guy' can only be interpreted as as the person who delivers rolls, heroes, French bread or Semolina bread to the luncheonette owner," said his lawyer, Joseph DiBenedetto.

Virtuoso, 58, indicted for extortion, will seek bail today."
