Mafia Hitman "Confesses" to Assassinating Kennedy

We still believe in the lone-assassin theory (Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone) since reading Gerald Posner's excellent analysis of the assassination, Case Closed. But we don't claim to have the monopoly on wisdom, especially when guys like G. Robert Blakey believe exactly the opposite.

Blakey famously said:

"Jack Ruby all by himself is substantial enough reason to believe in the Mafia's involvement [in the assassination of JFK]... The Mafia profited by JFK's death. What's worse is, they got away with it."

We learned from a blogger to read every day that in a new documentary called I Killed JFK by Barry Katz an imprisoned former mob associate, James Files, claims that "he worked along with major mob figures and fired the shot that killed Kennedy from the grassy knoll at Dealey Plaza in Dallas."

As noted in the Friends of Ours post, Jim Meyers for Newsmax reported that:

Files, who changed his name from Jimmy Sutton, was born in Alabama in 1942, and after a stint in the Army became associated with both the Chicago mob and the CIA. He worked under mobster Charles "Chuckie" Nicoletti, an underling of mob boss Sam Giancana. Giancana and other mobsters had been angered by the president’s brother, Robert, who as U.S. attorney general was targeting organized crime in a major prosecution effort. * * * The documentary chronicles how Files, along with Nicoletti and mobster Johnny Roselli, came to be in Dallas on the day Kennedy was assassinated.

Retired FBI Special Agent Zack Shelton, who also appears in the documentary, "is one of two former FBI agents who believe Files' story is credible":

He said:
"I have tried to verify Files' story. A lot of that story I have been able to verify," including that a shot was fired from the grassy knoll "exactly where Files said he was standing."

Former FBI special agent William Turner has dedicated his life to investigating the case as reported by KMAX:

"I believe the mafia was allied with the CIA in assassinating Kennedy, and I think we've proven that and should go ahead with closure -- designating it a conspiracy and not a single man's work,' said Turner."

Even though he.s a target the guy or guys who kill him might as well kill themselves because they will be the hunted ones then and if u hire outside help it cost money and could come back to bite u in the ass. I dont know who he rated on and other crews dont care it has nothing to do with them why draw heat on themselvs so the guy he gave up handles it or lives with it just my opinion. Philly2

He left the program, so the feds probably will not spend any more money on protecting him or prosecuting the would be killers.Especially in the midst of the budget cuts. They worry about ahmed and mohammed now. It would be different if an fbi agent got clipped but not an informant.1

  13. Don't believe it. If the mob was involved a car would have been waiting for Oswald after the hit and he would have been whacked nice and clean and be gone like Hoffa. This was a sloppy job and Jack Ruby was a nickel and dime moron.

  14. I still can't comprehend how a head, shot from behind, snaps backwards instead of forward ... OTOH, if Johnny Roselli was in the storm drain and the shot came from the front ... well, now, you've got something

  23. Gotti is praised by only you , no one cares for the gottis. Anyone that's in the underworld does not give a shit about anyone who's name is Gotti". Gotti actually destroyed the mob. Every wiseguy on the street knows that. " no friends in that life"

  24. I don't know where this Bonnaroo came from. It's supposed to be Bonnano. Old school is getting old.

  25. No friends in the life, my friend. Gotti dumped Quack Quack like hot potatoes. If you don't want to be in those situations you go do honest work. Not easy to live in constant treachery.

  26. The funny thing is that on the computer blogs so many people praise Gotti and trash Gravano, but on the streets it's almost the opposite. Everybody hates Gotti and many give Gravano a pass. A lot of people probably don't believe this, but it's true. About 15 years ago I dated a close relation to Gotti. I was invited to a wedding that some of the 13th Avenue crew was attending. I ended up getting one of the girls from Alba's to go with me to the wedding, but everyone thought she was this girl related with the Gottis. Man did we get the cold shoulder and a couple of nasty looks. I put two and two together later.
