Michael Franzese: 'I Looked Up to Those Guys'
Attendees of the Worcester Diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference got a chance to hear about how "ex-mob boss Mike Franzese" escaped from mob life.
He also told how the "violent men who ruled the street with intimidation" "put out an order to kill him" when he decided to leave the mob and dedicate his life to Christ.

Michael made it up the ladder to boss?
The article appeared in The Catholic Free Press. More highlights:
“I always heard in my life that I had to be a ‘man’s man,’” Franzese said. “I aspired to be a man’s man. And I looked up to those guys that I thought were men’s men. Carmine ‘The Snake’ Persico, boss of the Colombo family. Fat Tony Salerno. Big Paul Castellano. Matty ‘The Horse’ Ianniello. I looked up to these guys.
“But when I started to learn about Jesus, and I separated his deity for a moment and I looked at Jesus the man, I was so attracted by the qualities in this man. I said this is the only man I want to aspire to be in my life. He is the only true man’s man.”
Franzese has been described as one of the biggest money earners for the mob since Al Capone. In 1987, six years before he broke with the mob, Fortune magazine listed Franzese as No. 18 on the list of the “Fifty Most Wealthy and Powerful Mafia Bosses” with a reputed $300 million in mob earnings. Since 1995, after eight years of prison, Franzese has made a career as a motivational speaker, author and frequent guest on all major media outlets.
In Worcester, Franzese joked about his rough-and-tumble past, and spoke earnestly about finding salvation through Jesus.
“I know this is a hotbed area” for organized crime, he cracked. “I came here a few times, and you probably wouldn’t have wanted to meet me back then. I’m glad we’re meeting under better circumstance,” he added, eliciting a roar of laughter.

ReplyDeleteWHAT THIS SCUM IS IS A SALESMAN. IN THAT REGARD THE CHURCH AND THE MOB ARE THE SAME. THE MOB SCREWS THE SUCKER AND THE CHURCH LITTLE BOYS. WAIT TILL THIS FRAUDSTER LEARNS OF THE ROLE HIS BELOVED CHURCH PLAYED IN HIS BELOVED FATHERS IMPRISONMENT. THEN THE INSIDE JOKE IS ON HIM
ReplyDeleteHE LOOKED UP TO THEM-THEY LOOKED DOWN ON HIM. SEEING HIM AS A MOMSER WHO TRADED ON A NAME WHICH HE HAD NO BIRTHRIGHT. HIS LINEAGE WAS FROM HIS BALLBUSTER OF A MOTHER. A WOMAN UNIFORMLY SCORNED BY THE GROUP. TOLERATED ONLY FROM THE RESPECT EARNED BY THE ADOPTIVE FATHER. MICHAEL IS SEEN AS A MAN WITH HIS MOTHERS BALLS
ReplyDeletethis guy is so short of stature he looks up to midgets
ReplyDelete"After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good that he started roaring.
ReplyDeleteHe kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: when you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut."
